Marthe Wang - Looking for something else - Ut og se noe annet
"One of the most beautiful Norwegian songs I've ever heard" – Maria Mena about the single "Til deg" (For you)
With the beautiful debut single "Til Deg", Marthe Wang has already made it on to the A list of the popular Norwegian radio channel NRK P1. This song, which touched the hearts of Norwegian listeners in December, has grown in popularity into the new year and is a definite keeper. Now Marthe Wang is ready with her debut album "Ut og se noe annet" (Out to see something else). "I want it to sound like I'm right next to you singing into your ear," this 26-year-old from Bergen says about the intimate and organic sound of the recording.
Marthe wrote all nine of the songs, and her genuinely playful and emotional expression has been perfected with a number of well-known artists and the producer Markus Lillehaug Johnsen. The lyrics on this album tell small stories and are full of observations about life which Marthe offers to us with heart-felt empathy and warmth. With her background from the jazz department at the Norwegian Academy of Music, her dialect from Bergen and a unique ability to reach out to her audience, there is no doubt that she will become a darling of the Norwegian public. Norway has produced a new songwriter talent it will be exciting to follow in the years to come.
The band includes Frode Østang Mangens on keyboards, Markus Lillehaug Johnsen on guitars, Snorre Kiil Saga on bass, Ellen Andrea Wang on double bass, Thomas Gallatin on drums, Jonas Kilmork Vemøy on trumpet and David Wallumrød on B3 and clavinet.
