Soft City - No Longer (His Sunday Kind of Love)

Ny drivende soul fra Soft City
Finally Soft City is back with its energetic and funky soul!
With their perfect and playful harmony this Oslo-based band is better than ever. “No Longer” could have been a soul hit from the carefree 60s, but with clear elements from and references to the contemporary music universe.
“The song is a response to Etta James’ legendary Sunday Kind Of Love but it also acknowledges today’s dating culture and situationships. Where James yearned for a Sunday Kind Of Love, we celebrate the freedom you can experience when grieving lost love and then finding back to yourself again - as the main person in your life and on the dance floor,” the band says.
The Soft City band members share a deep love of music in the blues and soul genre, and since their debut in 2018 they have been featured at several major Norwegian festivals and clubs, such as Moldejazz, Notodden Bluesfestival and Klubbøya. In 2023 they toured in the USA, playing ten concerts in Mississippi and Tennessee in connection with the International Blues Challenge. KKV released their first album in 2022 with their great source of inspiration, Knut Reiersrud, as a featured guest.
The band has an urban and modern sound clearly inspired by the blues. Hard-hitting riffs, captivating rhythms, soulful melody lines and virtuoso soloes are Soft City’s hallmarks.
