“Natta ser det som ingen ser” has robust and gentle lyrics touching on such topics as attachments, separation, belonging and choosing one’s paths in life and in relationships. Her melodies have the rare quality of being both original and catchy, with powerful arrangements by Marie and her fellow musicians. The band is fully locked in on all the album’s 11 tracks, with Andreas Rukan on bass (Fieh, Vegard and Ivar band), Fredrik Svabø on guitar (iris), Runar Netland on drums, Bård Kristian Kylland on keyboards and Petter Lien on trumpet. Marie and her band have played a number of concerts in recent years. She plays piano, and works on this instrument when writing her music. She also plays the piano on one of the album tracks. Marie's melodious songs are a mix of folk rock and rock. Her vocal expression has a mix of vulnerability and strength that we also find in her lyrics, and in the varying moods in the songs, from the intimate and gentle to a powerful drive. She writes in Norwegian, using lyrical nature imagery, probably inspired by her early years living near the majestic Skodje mountains. Recording and mixing by Christian Engfelt. Her single “Rollebytte” [Trading places], released on 10 January, has been listed on NRK Møre- og Romsdal district radio and on Radio Nova. Marie, her band and her record company are scheduling a release concert on 12 March in Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo. More concerts will follow later, including at Terminalen Byscene in Ålesund on 15 March.
