In the autumn twilight

After their successful CDs “Sommerbrisen”, and “Julegløggen”, where Frode Alnæs, Arild Andersen and Stian Carstensen performed somewhat unconventional versions of summer songs and Christmas carols, they have now turned to the autumn season. These three eminent musicians playing the guitar, bass and accordion have developed their own special and well known sound. Their repertoire, essentially familiar and well-loved songs, is played with charm, virtuosity and musical zest. The tracks in clude “Autumn Leaves”, “Så länge skutan kan gå” (As long as your ship can sail), “Try to remember”, “Jeg er havren” (In the grain) and “Raindrops keep falling on my head”.

The CD offers a wide variety of moods and reflections on autumn in all its colours, from the sweet mists of an autumn’s day to the crisp fertility of harvest and to the sharp winds that tumble the leaves. A basic premise of the trio’s project is to perform their music in the studio under the determined influence of typical seasoned delights, hence the drowsy title after they have tasted the autumn game stew, autumn berries, Spanish red wine and Calvados.

The three musicians have arranged the music together under the guiding hand of producer Erik Hillestad. Recorded at Rainbow Studio, the CD has the unmistakeable stamp of quality from sound technician Jan Erik Kongshaug.
