Elin Furubotn - Ein tanke unna (A thought away)
Elin Furubotn: "Ein tanke unna" – A thought away
This spring Elin Furubotn gives us an album of the classic and organic kind, with her own melodies and lyrics, her own horn arrangements, and even a small woodcut for each song, as if the 1970s were still with us.
Her lyrics are subtle stories of things close and simple, truths and gems of wisdom about life as we would see it if we took a minute to stop and reflect. She gives us profound and warm thoughts about things big and small, and melodies that are welcome to the ear, and oh so nice to sing.
Elin accompanies herself on a nylon-stringed guitar, with sweet harmonies and a refreshing taste of a clean and crisp spring day. Alexander Flottve adds an extra dimension on electric and acoustic steel-string guitars. Gjermund Silset is on double and electric bass, Rune Arnesen is on drums, and Håvar Bendiksen plays accordion. The album was mostly recorded in Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo.
Daniel Wold was the recording engineer, and the album was produced by Erik Hillestad for KKV. The woodcuts illustrating each song were made by Eli Hovdenak.
