Diverse artister - Make me a channel of your peace
Voices from Asia, the Americas, Africa and Europe rise above hemispheres interpreted by musicians from all parts of the world, an image of Mother Earth, where supression and struggles for power, resources and existence persist, and where, through the ages, lamentations and prayers for peace have ascended to heaven.
In honour of the Nobel Peace Prize and all it stands for, artists from all over the world have made recordings for this CD, which is released to celebrate the Centennial of the Nobel Peace Prize. The initiative comes from Kirkelig Kulturverksted (KKV), an independent, Norwegian record company, in collaboration with Worldview Rights, human rights organization which for many years has supported former Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, many which are in urgent need of media and communication assistance. The primary benificiary has been Aung San Suu Kyi from Burma, who this year celebrates her tenth anniversary of being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. She still remains under house arrest, and has been supported by Worldview Rights for the last ten years. Both artists and the record company have waived royalty fees, and proceeds from the sale of this CD wil go to the “Nobel Peace Laureates Follow Up Fund”, founded by Worldview Rights on the request of several Laureates.
Kirkelig Kulturverksted an Worldview Rights would like to thank the artists and the Norwegian Nobel Institute for making the production of this CD possible.
