New single with Randi Tytingvåg Trio.A teaser from the album coming out in September. The song is a kind of tribute to hope.

“The collaboration on texts with Helge Torvund, the poet from Jæren in south-west Norway, started when I saw  this short poem of his on Facebook:

Lyset                                     The light

du treng                              you need

finst                                      exists

This touched me deeply, so I wrote him a message to thank him. Then he quickly sent some lines back to me, proposing that I should try and write a song for the text. I replied that to be honest, most of what I write is in English, but that I had not dismissed the idea that I would write in Norwegian later, and that I would love to pick up on this down the road. Helge then responded that this poem actually had been first written in English for a lighthouse exhibition in 2008. So the song The Light You Need Exists very quickly came to life, and our good collaboration had a flying start. The music for these lyrics came very naturally. It became a melodious song wrapped in a warm sound from strings and a pedal organ.

The song is a kind of tribute to hope. Hope is, in my opinion, simply essential.”
